Hey all,

figured it was about time to update you on my life and what has been going. It's been an... odd year, shall we say.

Where homelife is concerned: I've got my own apartment now, which I'll be redecorating soonish. Doesn't need a lot of work, so that is a bonus.

I have also landed myself a job at the Dutch National Library, working on a large-scale European project in the field of digital preservation. Won't bore you with the details, but for a first job, it's quite cracking.
The job I've had for the past three months at the university library has ended, and it seems I passed with flying colours. Everyone was really pleased with me.

Speaking of university, as we speak, I'm wrapping up the final bits of my MA course. One paper left that needs finishing, and the defense of my thesis is planned for this Friday. Which means I'll officially be an MA in two weeks or so. ^^
However, I don't feel like I'm done researching yet, and I'm currently making plans to do a PhD. The subject will be something bordering on book history and gothic horror, so it might be interesting for you lot, as well.
I plan to work on my PhD proposal over the summer and get things going in earnest by September or October.

So... with all that talk of jobs and research, you might be worrying about my writing . With me getting my own place, and a separate study and library (yeah, I've actually got room for that, cos I'm awesome), there should be more peace and quiet in my free time, and thus more opportunity for me to write. I'm hoping to pick up on a few bigger projects and work on some story ideas in the near future, when the mess of university graduating and redecorating has died down. No worries, though, you won't get rid off me that easily!
